Family Lives are looking for Volunteer Befrienders …to help us continue to support families.

The role of the volunteer is to support families on a one to one basis, visiting them in a community setting or their home, learning about their lives and their problems and helping them to find solutions. Volunteers will visit families regularly (usually once a week) to ensure that parents keep in contact, work with other support services positively and have a chance to discuss issues as they make changes in their family lives.

Family Lives volunteers get full training in listening and befriending skills with a chance to gain a qualification under the Open College Network. We also offer one to one supervision which aims to track your development and learning, regular group meetings with other volunteers and regular appraisals to ensure that your experience with us is well supported and enjoyable.

For further information or an application form to become a Volunteer please contact our Stroud Office on 01453 751 676 or email admin-glos@familylives.org.uk

Cleaner Wanted – Woodvale

Wednesday, July 20th, 2011 by Clare

I am looking for a cleaner for around 4 hours per week in Woodvale. Rate of pay will be £6.50 per hour and the hours can be worked at times to suit you (within reason)!
I will need bathroom cleaning, kitchen cleaning including hob/oven from time to time, dusting, hoovering and interior window cleaning. Perhaps a very small amount of ironing. There is only one occupant in the house and I’m clean so it’s not an onerous job. I am just too busy to do it myself and hate a dirty house!
If you’re interested please send me an email to clare@brutonyoung.co.uk to tell me where you are based, the hours that you can do and a little about yourself including any relevant previous experience if applicable.
Many thanks
Clare

Student Looking for Summer Work

Thursday, July 2nd, 2009 by nonacoo

Hi,

With the school holidays just around the corner – do you need a helping hand?

I am currenly home, living in Kingsway, in my summer break from univerity, and have lots of time on my hands (as well as needing to earn some pennies for rent etc when I return to my studies).

I have lots of experience with little ones, as my parents were foster carers, and I helped them while they stayed with us. I also have a baby brother and sister, both under five.

I believe that I have a natural ability with children, love having fun, but know how important routine is.

If you want your kids to be in their own home, and in their own area, rather than in a holiday club, them please contact me, and see if I can help.

I can provide references if required and rates of pay can be discussed on a one to one basis.

I may be at university, but I’m just a big kid at heart.

Please contact 01452 724090.
