Kingsway Book Club – Next Meeting

Monday, December 15th, 2008 by Clare

Hi all,

Due to being in the advanced stages of pregnancy, I’m afraid I haven’t managed to get around to arranging a Christmas book club meeting.

I am now planning on having one on 23rd January, 7pm at 127 Woodvale.

Everyone is welcome to come and discuss the book we’ve been reading which is:

“A Sweet Obscurity” by Patrick Gale.

See you then!

Well the second meeting of the Kingsway Book Club has now been scheduled for 17th October (at 127 Woodvale) at 7.30pm.

The book we chose last time was This Book Will Save Your Life by AM Homes and some of us have even had time to read it… (Naughty Clare)!

Please feel free to come along whether you have read the book or not, the more the merrier.

Please call on 01452 725458 if you want more info

Kingsway Literature Society – First Meeting

Thursday, August 21st, 2008 by Clare

Ladies and Gentlemen… The first meeting of the Kingsway Literature Society (aka "The Book Club") will take place on Friday 5th September at 127 Woodvale at 7.30pm.

For more information mail clare.bruton-young@sky.com or call on 01452 725458 – or just turn up!

We are not high fliers or intellectuals, we are just normal people who like to read.
Come along and have a glass of wine (or OJ if you’re pregnant like me), while we talk about how to get a local book club off the ground.

Don’t be nervous, we honestly won’t bite, unless you annoy us!

Very best wishes
Clare, Lis and Emma, the founder members.

Kingsway Book Club

Friday, April 11th, 2008 by Clare

I tried to start a book club in my old village but sadly there was little interest. They didn’t have a website and a leaflet drop didn’t generate a massive response.

As an avid reader I just wondered if this is something that would be of interest to other residents of Kingsway? If so, I would be pleased to host and manage it. I just need avid readers to come along and make it fun!
