Queens Jubilee Event 3rd June

Big Lunch 2012

Hi All,

The Residents Association is holding a Queens Jubilee Celebration on the 3rd June in the park land near Manor Farm.

Music is going to be central to this year’s event and as such we would like to include as many local bands as possible.

Unfortunately we are unable to pay any bands who play, however we will supply lunch and it’s some great exposure.

This is being made possible by Gloucester College so a big thanks to them.

If you are interested in playing then please contact paul@kingsway-villagers.co.uk

More information regarding the event, times etc will be posted shortly.

Also if you are interested in volunteering to help out on the day, we require people to help set up the area and also clear up afterwards. Please email the above address should you wish to help.

Any help is appreciated!

Thanks

Hunts Grove Extension

Saturday, February 18th, 2012 by barker77

Hi All,

Stroud District Council have just announced their plans to build a further 3000 homes in the Stroud district.

Some of these homes are planned to be built on an extension to the Hunts Grove estate in Hardwicke (just the other side of the Waterwells Business Park).

Should you wish to voice your opinion on this proposal, you can take part in the online consultation – here.

Councillor Barbara Tait has said: "Officers will decipher the responses and decide what the next step is", and "Obviously we then go to the inspector who will have a look at how we’ve got to the results and make his decision as to whether this goes through or not".

More information is available at BBC News Gloucestershire.

Recycling Box Lids (Litter Problems Cont’)

Sunday, December 4th, 2011 by barker77

Just a post following on from the previous thread regarding litter problems:

I believe that the majority of the litter is from recycling boxes that don’t have lids. Either because the clips have broken off (as mine have and have been replaced by The Council), or by owners who don’t use them, because they have slightly too much recycling for one box for example, so can’t use a lid, or because someone else has stolen the lid to replace their broken one.

I don’t know what other peoples opinions of this are but I have emailed Andrew.Partis@gloucester.gov.uk and let him know of the problem.

The more people who complain the better as it might help The Council to see that there is a big problem with the design of these leading to litter problems that could be easily solved.

Paul
