Kingsway and QUVL
Created by Barry KirbyFolks
Firstly, my apologies for a seeming lack of contact on my behalf. We have been progressing all the issues that have been raised with us and these have taken more time than anticipated.
It is my unfortunate task to report that QUVL has broken their relationship with ourselves and essentially the Kingsway Community. They are removing the ability to report issues through their website and will not be entertaining issues raised by residents. This is a reaction to the downturn of the economic market and is their answer to saving money. I am working with the communcations manager to see if we can salvage some form of relationship with the builders who are still building directly.
This has a direct impact on the work of the Association as they had promised things like actioning issues that we brought forward (a large number of which we have achieved) and also to print a newsletter and contribute to events. To this end we now have no current real route to affecting change, and also no funding for events. Whilst it is not the end, it does pose a large barrier to our immediate plans.
I believe that this will change in the future when the market turns again, and I am hopeful for a relationship with the more productive companies. However, for the moment, we need to be realistic about what to expect in the short term future.
Im sorry for not having more upbeat news, but I wanted to ensure I passed on this news to ensure everyone was kept in the picture

Barry,
If the QUVL have broken their relationship with Kingsway, who exactly is now responsible for this developing site?
Also, do they not have a continued duty of care to us residents also living here?
I appreciate times are hard on us all, but we do not want to be forgotton about!

My apologies, I wasnt very clear. They are breaking the relationship with the residents, not the whole village. They are in essence hiding in a hole until the bad times are over.

An addition to this, The Kingsway Village website has a contact email which used to go to QUVL. In relation to the news above, they were going to stop this completely. Their marketing chap approached me to see if they can redirect it to the RA, and I agreed so at least we could try and apply pressure somehow.
Unfortunately I do not believe that they have been clear to whom it is being redirected as I am getting emails about issues and they believe I am part of QUVL. Even when I say who we are, I am still getting quite abusive emails and claiming that a lot of this is my fault.
It has got to the stage that if this continues that I will remove this redirect facility as it does not do what was expected and quite frankly I don’t need the abuse!
If you have an issue, first approach the builder who you bought from, and also get the Parish Council informed.

Hi Baz,
You have my sympathy in this.
IMO – the RA should not have been saddled with the responsibility of dealing with issues intended for the QUVL.
Whilst we are (obviously) here to help residents, our efforts should be focussed on the community, not on individual issues related to their customers.
We receive no support from them at all now, and – quite frankly – offloading their issues to us by redirecting that email address is simply a way of passing the buck, avoiding hassle and saving money IMHO.
Ultimately all issues diverted to us will be redirected back to the QUVL anyway, and – since they have withdrawn all meaningful "after sales service" – it seems to me that we’re on a hiding to nothing and that this will do nothing but harm the reputation of the Association and further frustrate Kingsway Residents.
According to Andrew Hunter – during his interview with BBC Radio in December – he is "actively involved in dealing with Residents issues on a daily basis"… So
I recommend that the emails intended for the QUVL should be redirected to him.
