Halloween 2007 and little monsters were out in force as trick or treat fever hit Kingsway and village residents marched their ghouls and gremlins around on a mission to fill their bags with goodies.
Our children Phoenix and Cheyenne (see pics) joined in the fun.

Kingsway Villagers Halloween

Cheyenne went off with a group of friends to terrorise villagers far and wide, whilst Phoenix, Richard, David, Mummy and I, set off scare up some candy in the immediate area.

Whist (understandably) many knocks went unanswered, we were more than impressed by the number of houses decorated with pumpkins, skulls, ghosties and skeletons and I managed to snap a few as we went by.

We travelled up and down Thatcham avenue, Kinloss Drive and several other roads in the immediate area. Phoenix was welcomed by many residents and had a thoroughly enjoyable time. I imagine many people heard her shrieks and giggles.

We had one – almost embarrassing – moment when mummy took Phoenix down a quiet lane to a house where the owner was stood outside his door… “Trick or Treat” says Phoenix (sounds like “twick or tweat” to me – lol) and the gentleman (as he very much proved to be) dived inside to root out some sweets… As he moved away from the door mummy spotted the “Sorry No Trick or Treaters” sign and mumbled her apologies as she accepted a treat from the kind chap! I thought it was funny but then – typical dad – I was stood back in the shadows :)

On our trip around the village we saw many other local children also “dressed to kill” (sic) and I managed to capture a nice collection on camera, which I completed after returning home, to play our part in supplying the local monsters with enough goodies to “keep them sweet” until Christmas!

Angelina and I wish to thank everybody for their generosity and kindness and bid you all a Happy Halloween… until next year harhararharharhar (evil laugh)!

    Halloween Query

I have never let my son "trick or treat" before, as he was too young and where we lived was unsafe. Someone suggested if he really wanted to do it, that I let him do it at families houses but as they all live in Rugby it’s not a great plan!

So I was wondering what the general consensus is about trick or treating around Kingsway, or in general. How many people actually answer the door and take part in the whole thing. Are other parents in the neighborhood accompanying their children round to trick or treat?

    Hi lis,

Well as you can see, the local children had a great time last year; whilst a number of local residents ignored visitors or displayed signs asking for "no tirck or treaters", the majority of people welcomed the little perishers (lol) and were fully prepared to dish out goodies :)

Like you, we were a little concerned so we went out with the kids and you can read how things went above…

I expect we’ll be doing the same thing this year

I for one have been out to get sweeties ready for the weekend.
I did last year but the where I live was only 1/2 developed last year so no one came and I had to eat all the sweets myself… (that made me feel a bit sick)!

Awww poor you Mclovin lol must have been terrible :) Well not to worry this year from what I’ve heard the children will be out in force.
