Kingsway’s (Temporary) Community Centre

Friday, November 28th, 2008

Pending the planned building of a permanent building, the QUVL have kindly donated a building for our use as a temporary Kingsway Community Centre.

It will be in one of the buildings on the future business park (in the vicinity of the room used for our first 2 Residents Association meetings - see map in this post).

Keys will be available - and bookings controlled by - the Quedgeley Parish Council (staff available from 9am - 2pm Mon’ - Fri’) - Tel: 01452 721552

    Hi Folks,

I’ve had several enquiries from organisations running clubs / groups at the Kingsway Community Centre about advertising / publicising them on the website, and some folks submitting posts about them.
I must confess that this has caused me something of a conundrum 😕

Whilst I feel I should publicise regular events taking place at our community centre, I am also conscious of the fact that many of them are commercial ventures, thus should pay for advertising in accordance with the information available on our Advertising Page, (and bearing in mind that a portion of all advertising revenue is donated to the Residents Association, to be used for the benefit of the local community).

For free / community groups, I have no such concerns; you are welcome to submit a post giving full details, including link(s) to any relevant website(s), and to include a comment here (I will create a link in your comment to your post/thread).

For commercial ventures and private clubs / groups, I am happy for you to post minimal details as a comment in this thread, so that folks know of your club/group, but I will not allow a post (without advertising revenue), links to websites, nor "advertising / promotional language"…
Thus please limit the details to:
    1. Type / Nature of the Club / Group.
    2. Description of activities (if not obvious from #1).
    3. Day(s) & Time(s)… (and start date for new ventures).
    4. Targetted Age Groups / Gender(s).

    Regards,
    Clive

Charge for it? 😆 That would be funny… if it wasn’t so tragic!

Have you spoken to Mrs Needham about using the School?

Have just been informed that - although the Parish Council told the Residents Association that we would be able to use the Community Centre free of charge for community meetings etc, they are now going to charge us for its use; not very community spirited in my mind.
However we can apply for a grant from the Parish Council to pay for it… There is logic there somewhere!
