Bus Service for Thatcham Avenue
Do anyone know when Thatcham Ave and beyond is going to get a bus service?
In this very wet weather it is no wonder people are bringing Tesco trolleys on to the site!
With no shops here and not having a car, weekly shopping for a family is very heavy. I feel very sorry when I see mums with small children in the pouring rain; surely they could run a bus down Thatcham and round past the School, back out through Valley Gardens to the traffic lights!
I know the roads has not been finished but does that really matter? Surely we will not have to wait 1-2-3 years until the recession recovery?
And - as for finishing roads - they can find funds to do side roads ie Marham Drive!

I think this is a great idea, although I’m not sure if a bus could actually make it down Thatcham Avenue at the moment.
Maybe the Residents Association could contact Stagecoach?

I don’t think the bus needs a further route, the amount of people I see waiting for it doesn’t seem as though it needs a further journey, let alone routing past all the cars.
As for Tesco trolleys and shopping, Tesco do deliver for those who cannot get all their shopping home. If everyone took a trolley home there would be none there and then everyone else would moan! Myself, personally I have Sainsburys deliver! I also would not even think of "nicking" a trolley if I needed to, as bascially that is theft!
