Blue BMW Coupe… Idiot
I was out on Thatcham Avenue a couple of nights ago when I witnessed a Blue BMW coupe being ‘doughnutted’ around the Thatcham Avenue / Woodvale roundabout and then racing up Thatcham Avenue and swerving to avoid cars!
I have spoken to some friends about this and have learned that this is an almost nightly occurence for this idiot driver who is a resident of Thatcham Avenue.
If anyone on this site knows him maybe you could have a word in his ear before he:
1. Damages property - or - 2. Kills a pedestrian or himself.
Kingsway is not a race track, nor do we want it to be.
It makes me wonder if anyone has experienced anything else like this?

I hear this idiot most nights. If it was the same time every night, then I would call the Police, but it seems to vary nightly.
I don’t understand what he gets out of it.
The problem is that you know if there is an accident, he’ll be the one walking away unharmed, and somebody else will be the one suffering!

I wonder if this is the same inconsiderate person parking on the front garden along Thatcham!

I have seen the driver doughnutting outside his house too - along with the other Black BMW which is also resident there. The driver also thought that it would be a good idea to “burn” his tyres and skid on the mud that was on the road!
Yes, it is the person who parks on his garden - and from what I hear he is a local business man too - great example you are showing!

I know exactly the person you are talking about and yes he does park on the grass.
It seems whenever it has been raining or muddy he thinks this is fun.
Can we report him to the Police as it is very dangerous.
We could also name the local business since I strongly suspect it is one we have all used on occasion? Although I’m not sure of the legality of this on the forum (Clive?)

I hate to say it but it seems that unless you name the culprit and get video footage, then The Police can do very little. This person would still get away with it and like you say, will cause an accident, and of course his car and himself would be fine!
The more evidence you provide, the more action and case can be brought against this person.

Big dave, I for one would like to know what business this bufoon runs?

Folks,
Personally I don’t really want to see personal details posted in matters such as these.
I don’t know about the legal implications, although publishing a company name seems risky and - perhaps - a little unfair (unless he is the company owner or the vehicle is a company car… in which case a call to the company might pay some dividends)!
With that said, my site terms and conditions are fairly clear on these matters… any "liability" is yours, not mine (the "pontious pilate defence")

Whilst I know to whom Big_dave is referring to, I have not seen the offending behaviour. If anyone has and can link it to an address, then please report it to the police. Or report it through the process on this blog. As i have said before, unless the police are told, they can not be to blame for not doing anything. You can always report anonymously to the police (I have done this in the past). At the least, if we have a time frame, then the police may send a patrol at a similar time.

I agree with Baz. I dont know the reg’ but I will find out this weekend when I get 5 and report it through the site as I have seen this guy doing donuts, and tearing off like a lunatic up Thatcham.
Hopefully the Police may be able to help, and since I am only a few doors away I may even be able to get some footage if the timing is right..

I completed one of the police reports on this site on Tuesday morning before this topic with full vehicle details, so far I have had no response.
Maybe if a few residents submit them then this may encourage them to look into the matter?

Hi Ashley,
I received your report, thank you.
(Unless you specifically ask for a response, you won’t normally get one, but you can rest assured that your reports are ALL taken forward).
The reporting system is anonymous. eg: I receive, collate and present the reports but only I - and the Police - see them. In an effort to preserve anonymity I wouldn’t normally mention it (unless - as in this case - you mention it here).
Sadly, without an address or registration number, The Police aren’t going to be able to do much and - even then - there is only so much they can do whilst the roads are privately owned; however, I know from experience that they will follow up on reports of reckless driving (not personal experience - lol) so hopefully something can be achieved before the unmentionable happens.
My next Police meeting is next Thursday (Nov’ 27th) so - if you guys have anything to add - please get them in by Wednesday
