March Against Incineration – Saturday 18 April 2009

Sorry, just picked up the details from the organisers… Better late than never!
Please come on a march to protest about Gloucestershire County Council’s plans to build an incinerator at Javelin Park.
Join at any of the points as below (or anywhere in between)…
9.30am Quedgeley Retail Park
9.50am Roundabout at Naas Lane/Fieldcourt Drive
10.15am McDonalds/Esso Garage, Hardwicke.
11.00am End at Javelin Park with the releasing of 99 Red Balloons – representing the danger of possible emissions; each balloon will be tagged to trace how far they travel.

Realistically, the Conservative led Council don’t "plan to build an incinerator" yet, do they? That would mean breaking their manifesto pledge. They’re evaluating a number of options for a facility, and of course, it suits David Purchase and his boss to claim that this will be an incinerator. I don’t have any more time for the Tories than most people, but smell the coffee, guys…

I’ve smelt the coffee Joe and it stinks… Manifesto pledges are just there to get elected then bingo they tend to do as they want… So yes, an incinerator could well be on the cards. Dont rest on your laurels otherwise everything will be going up in smoke around you.
