Problems with Builders and Construction Traffic

It seems that many Kingsway Village residents have suffered some bad experiences with local builders, as you can see if you look through the comments for this post.

Particularly useful is this comment from carpo18mav who seems to be suffering more than most and has posted details of who to contact for problems and complaints.

So - if you are having problems with the builders and you can’t get anywhere by being pleasant, please take her advice and follow it up with QUVL or the City council via the telephone numbers or email links supplied.

I have to say that we’ve personally been fairly fortunate with builders. I know that many of my neighbours along Thatcham Avenue have had problems with construction traffic but we personally don’t use it (parking at rear) so we have no real axe to grind…

I did ask them to help publicise the website through their “welcome packs” and links from their websites, but I didn’t get a reply… (You’d think it would make a nice selling point for them - I know some potential buyers from all over the UK have found the site, because we’ve had ‘phone calls from some of them asking about the area and looking for directions - but there it is, lol)!

Anyway, do please feel free to add your gripes to this post and be sure to follow them up :)

Also please help us to get the word out about this site. I still haven’t been able to leaflet the Village (I don’t think my legs would stand it at the moment… I can’t wait until the Kingsway Surgery opens so I can finally visit a Doctor who has time to sort me out - lol).

  1. Clive Says:

I notified Trevor at QUVL about these matters and he replied:

“I note the comment in question re traffic is from March 12th - and you must be aware of the very considerable measures taken most recently including ‘live’ road patrols to ensure site traffic is controlled road cleaning etc.
Be in no doubt the project team is on it …
Updated comments - make sure they reach me and I will ensure the project manager is right in the loop on problems”

So be sure to add comments to this thread if you have any further concerns, and I’ll make sure that Trevor is notified :)
