    Hi Barry,

Received the leaflet through the door last night and very interested in coming along. However, where is the “new Kingsway Community Centre”?

I’m not sure that many residents would know where it will be…

    Thanks,
    darreng.

    Me again!

Well as my “condition” progresses I am finding that I am regaining a little energy so will once again be happy to be involved with the Residents Association.

I received the leaflet through my door, thanks guys.

I don’t get on here much to check messages/comments but use Facebook fairly regularly. E-mail will of course always get to me so if you need any input or assistance please just let me know. I’ll keep a lookout for the next communications…

    Cheers
    Clare

    Hi Folks,

For those who didn’t receive a leaflet yet, we were unable to finish because we ran out of leaflets and time (who wants post after 10pm)? But we will get around to the rest of the Village as soon as we can get more leaflets ready.

I think that the Community Centre is to be near to the school, although exactly where I’m not 100% clear! I will get more precise information and publish directions here before the event.

    Hi Clare,

Glad to hear you’re over the “initial shock”
I trust you got my last email and will be in touch again shortly.

    Hi,

We have been getting loads of phonecalls following the leaflet drop - the main one being where is the community centre?! I have been citing the website as a source of answers, but the last person I spoke to said they don’t have internet…help help!!

    Hi Amanda,

It will be near to the school.

I’ve asked for more details and will post them as soon as I get them.

We are also hoping to get more details included in the local press (Quedgeley News, THQ Citizen, Stroud News etc) and notice boards (eg: Tesco’s) and - if push comes to shove - we can always ask permission to put some signs around that area pointing to the spot or have a few people directing "traffic" etc…

The best approach right now (for those without internet access) is probably to ask them to call back for more specific directions in a few weeks time (although I expect an answer within a day or two).

    Hi There,

For the last few days I’ve been thinking to myself “you know, this place needs a Residents Association, best I stick up a set of forums and go and start knocking on doors”.

Your leaflet arrived with perfect timing!

My main concern at the moment is that we seem to have gangs of "out of control children" (I’m not going to say "youths" or "teenagers" because in some cases the children are too young to qualify for those categories). I’m not sure I want to wait a month before trying to get organised to so something about it… I shall post again in the relevant area.

    Regards to everyone.

    Bill

I am not able to attend the meeting on Friday 27th June but would still like to be part of the Residents Association. Does anyone know who I should contact?

  8. Clive Says:

    Hi Hodge,

The meeting is intended to get the Association started and to elect people for key positions (Chair, Vice-Chair, Secretary and possibly Treasurer etc).

If you want to apply for one of these positions, I imagine you would need to either attend the meeting or apply by proxy (have someone else do it for you) and send sufficient supporters to vote for you (if the position is contested)!
If you don’t wish to apply for one of these positions then you don’t really need to do anything.

All residents of Kingsway should have equal access to the services of the Residents Association.

I don’t imagine this first meeting will achieve anything other than the formation of the Association. After that the elected committee will most probably set dates for future meetings, inform other relevant organisations (Quedgeley Parish Council etc) of it’s existence and take ownership of any issues brought to it’s attention by local residents and the Parish Council / QUVL etc.

The current plan is that all actions of the Association will be reported on this website, so you could simply monitor the site in order to keep up with all local issues pertaining to the Association and post here in order to raise new issues.

This is my interpretation of previous plans / discussions, but - of course - the elected committee may change things… Either way, I will attend the meeting and report back on any decisions taken.

I hope that answers your question :)
