Further Development
Created by Barry KirbyIt seems the development is moving on. The planning applications are in tomorrow for the local centre. I had the joy of being interviewed and photo taken about it which appeared in the paper today… already been told I look rather dazed, which is maybe unsurprising as our Son was born about 24 hours earlier and I was on about 4 hours sleep
I have spent a good deal of time yesterday and today walking around the village with the pushchair and it is obvious that the builders are moving ahead, thus you could infer that people are buying houses again. Take from that what you will I guess, I see it as a good sign.
It was also really good to see both parks being so popular and the kids enjoying the decent weather. I’m looking forward to getting the local shops and stuff as I think the place will really start to feel more like a community rather than a cluster of houses.

Hi Baz,
Congratulations to you both on the birth of your baby boy
Yep, it’s great to see the building work moving ahead again and very exciting about the shops and amenities (plus – it will give the kids somewhere to hang out)

I too am pleased that things are moving again. The feeling around the village is fairly morbid at the moment with large numbers of empty properties and a general feeling that maybe we should have moved somewhere else! Hopefully if things begin to move again that feeling will subside.
Fingers crossed

I think most things are moving as a break had been taken by builders and as most houses are being sold to HA, Council, part-share etc, they can finish them. If you look at mortgage rates most lenders are asking for a hefty deposit often up to 30% and developers are also selling houses fairly cheaply. In turn anyone tryng to sell their home would lose out because of the benefits the developers are giving to new buyers.

Hi MissC,
Where on earth did you get that idea?
