Created by finbarHi All,
I thought I should introduce myself on here as I have just signed up as a member of this site.
My wife, 2 children and I have been living on the estate (bugs me to call it a village as it blatantly is not and never will be), since August 2006.
We moved onto a building site and we now live in what I consider to be one of the nicest corners of the area.
Having read some of negative posts on here I thought I should mention that at no time in that 4 years have my family or myself been victims of crime or A/S Behaviour. I sometimes wonder if I am even living on the same estate as some of you!
I have 1 child in Kingsway School and another starts there in September, and we are happy with the progress our daughter has made.
The transport links are good, buses run regularly, M5 is 2 minutes away, plenty of open spaces, 2 parks, the countryside on our doorstep, shops within walking distance, gym within walking distance… I could go on!
My wife and I both work in Stroud and we have considered moving back over that way but have decided that Kingsway is a decent place to raise our family so we are staying put.
Thats me.

Hi G / finbar,
Thanks for joining in
I don’t think that most people would argue with you about the area being peaceful and friendly. No doubt there are antisocial elements (everywhere), but – for the most part – the majority of people I meet in Kingsway find it a very friendly and peaceful place to live.
(You have to ignore the garbage concocted by some of the local press who seem perfectly happy to create/"report" sensationalised rubbish in order to sell their rags and don’t give a moments thought to finding/reporting the truth)!
I’m glad to hear you’re happy here… So are we
