Local Burglaries
Created by MissCHi,
I would like to mention that there has been a spate of burglaries on our street in the last 3 weeks.
One was a break in to a car – stereo stolen, and more recently a bike from a garage (however it was recovered) and another car was broken into with some valuables stolen.
To protect ourselves further I would suggest locking your cars, locking your garages, keeping valuables either out of the car (ideally) or by hiding them. Items of value in your garden hidden or in a lockable shed.
We all need to protect ourselves and I am not going to mention the gap between the most recent burglaries… it was very short put it that way!
It doesn’t take long for someone to test your locks open up your car / house / garage then take what they want!
Let’s beat them, not help them!

I’m sorry to hear about that MissC and I’d also like to add that there were more cars broken into very recently… best we all keep an eye out
I didn’t see any Community Police Reports about these incidents, so I hope they were reported to the Police (otherwise crime in Kingsway will not receive the necessary resources).
Once again I am scheduled for a meeting with the Quedgeley Community Police SCT next week so please keep using the Community Police Report Form so that we are aware of local issues… (see my previous posts in the Local Crime & ASB Category for more info’).
According to reports received through this website, local crime/ASB has been very sparse during these last few months! If that’s not correct we need to make people aware of the need to inform me and/or the Police, otherwise we cannot expect them to help us.

Car Break in Lyneham Drive
I awoke this morning 9/6/09 to find my car had been broken into and my driving glasses and Ipod had been stolen.
I am just warning all residents to be extra vigilent about security and keep an eye out for anyone acting suspicious.
If anyone finds my glasses dumped locally, I would love them back.
Thanks

Hi Border,
Thanks for posting, sorry to hear about that
Did you report it to the Police?
Also – if you have time – please fill in a Community Police Report.
Good luck finding your glasses.

Interestingly enough, the Police Report For Quedgeley Parish Council June 2009 includes this statement:
Let’s hope he didn’t have an apprentice

Last week my neighbor had some stuff stolen from her garage. The thieves must have got there from our garden or from the next door of my neighbor, using a crowbar
The Police already know how rough Kingsway is getting and I feel disgusted because first the Police are not doing anything about it (a policeman on the phone with my neighbor even said to her to take fingerprints! Hello!!! Are we supposed to do their job?) and second I now do regret living here.
If Kingsway Developers say it is a nice area to live in they are just a bunch of liars!

Hi Claudia,
Sorry to hear about your neighbour’s problems
I’m also sorry to hear that you’re not happy living here, we’ve found it to be a really quiet and friendly place (and I would say it’s a nice area)… I guess it depends on your exact location.
I’m not sure that Kingsway is “getting rougher”, crime stat’s for this year are almost identical to last year!
I’ve deleted the submitted article (since you posted this comment here it can’t also be added as an article).
I hope things improve for both you and your neighbour.
Regards,
Clive
