Broken Car Mirrors
Created by aleksuuLast Saturday night we had our car side mirror broken! We initially thought it was stolen, but then when we went for a walk on Sunday, we found it opposite the school… smashed!
It wasn’t just our car, but our neighbours as well.
The glass parts of the mirrors were taken out and we have a little dent in the car itself.
I’m absolutely gutted as this is the first time EVER we’ve encountered any sort of antisocial behaviour (crime) since we moved here in 2009.
We didn’t report it to the Police though, and now I’m not sure if it was right

Hi aleksuu,
Sorry to hear that, I would be annoyed to.
I once had my drivers window smashed and my radio taken; when I went to the Police station they asked what I expected them to do about it
I don’t think you’re likely to get any sort of satisfactory result, but – if you fill in a Community Police Report it may influence their priorities in this area in future months and perhaps stop it from happening again (to you or to somebody else)!

Personally I think that you should report it to Gloucester Police so they can do increased patrols and maybe link it to any other damage done in the area.

I agree… The best direction is to make a formal report as this can provide a clearer understanding of what concerns are being encountered, and once collated, police can link certain issues together in order to have a better idea of whom may be responsible. The area PC’s for ourselves are; PC Emma MacDonald or PC Sam Jones. 0845 090 1234, and ask to be connected with Quedgeley Police Station for those officers.

I agree with you two, a formal report is the best step (nowadays – lol)!
Just out of interest though, all our Community Police Reports are sent to PC Sam Jones on receipt, and the purpose of the form on this website is to use as direct input when discussing/updating our local SARA Plan, so that such issues will receive priority from the local police in the coming weeks/months.

Sorry Clive,
Wasn’t attempting to dismiss the use of the link available on here – as you know I am very keen that this is provided by the website itself.

No worries Steve, I agreed with your comments (as I said)
I just wanted to point out that Sam Jones gets to see all the reports posted via the site.

My car has been targeted three times now. Also not aided by people using the private courtyard as a cut through to the school – they keep knocking my mirrors, scratching my car etc. Deliberate damage and theft has been carried out three times now – I’ve reported two incidents to the police, but there’s not a lot they can do. As a result of this, plus other antisocial behaviour, I am leaving Kingsway next month as I’ve had enough.

The queue to escape is ever growing, it says everything about quality of life and condition of this housing estate and the QUVL

I feel sorry for you having your car attacked by these mindless idiots, we have had our garden attacked, flowers pulled up and tubs oveturned.
I can fully understand people wanting to leave this Estate. Where are QUVL when you need to speak to them? If you e/mail them they never respond. Why don’t they come out of their office and come and talk to the people who have spent a lot of money buying property here?
I hope Andy Smith reads this, or will it just fall on deaf ears again!
Tog.

Haydn08, This is very sad and upsetting to read you have had enough and are leaving Kingsway.
If the queue of people wanting to leave is getting longer because of the mindless idiots causing trouble maybe it is down to the decent folk in Kingsway to make a stand and watch out for our neighbours. We all come home from work and shut ourselves away in our homes. If we all looked out of our windows from time to time and reported suspicious behaviour, these idiots would soon get the message that Kingsway is a risky place to target. Remember when you were young and there was that little old man who kept peering out of his window? I bet he never had any trouble on his property. We all know someone like this I’m sure. Kingsway has got the potential to become a very nice place to live if we all pull together I feel.

I was going to buy a house in Kingsway, but after reading this I’m not so sure
