Pre-paid Gas Meters

Thursday, May 13th, 2010 by mitzi1960

I have an independent gas transporter and can’t have a pre paid-meter fitted!

When I moved into my new home 4 weeks ago, British Gas supplied my gas and electric. I stayed with them, as they would fit pre-paid meters in.

Now I’ve been told they are unable to touch the Gas Meter as it an Independent gas transporter!

How do I get round this?

I like to know how much I put in the meter and how low it gets, and I bet there are many tenants who would like to go with this method of payment, due to the current finanicial climate.

I don’t want to go on a direct debit methods, as I don’t use Gas in the summer months, and I don’t want a large bill arriving either.

What happens if you can’t pay your bills?

Most energy suppliers say they will fit pre-paid meters if you go with them, but don’t mention at the time that – for some meters, they are unable to.

Please can anyone help with some advice.

Grey Cat

Friday, April 30th, 2010 by Salz

I have been living in the Lyneham Drive area for over a year now, and there is a grey cat with 4 white paws and a white chest that appears to be homeless.

Several of my neighbours and I put scraps of food out for this cat, who does seem to be in good health.

Can anybody confirm that they do actually own him, and he is not a stray?

If he is not in Lyneham Drive he seems to like lying in the small park under the train!

If I know he belongs to someone, I will stop feeding him to encourage him to go home.

New To Kingsway

Hello,

I have been having a look around your site, it is great I am so glad I found it, everyone seems so friendly.

I move to the area in 2 weeks and have been living out in Europe for the last 3 years so I know absolutely nothing about any of the surrounding area or schools etc, and have been unable to find the street we will be living in on any maps online (I’m assuming its because its a new build)! The street name is Goose Bay Drive.

Can anyone tell me how far Beaufort School is from here?
Is there access through the wooded area, as I dont drive?

Also has anyone else has any problems getting their children into Kingsway School? I love the sound of the school but as of yet have been refused a place on the grounds its full to its limit :( …but have been told to appeal.

Quedgeley News Volunteers Required

Tuesday, January 19th, 2010 by Quedgeley News

We are short of distributors in a number of roads in Kingsway and despite a number of attempts few people have come forward. As you probably know, everyone who helps QN does so as a volunteer, no one is paid. However, distributing the magazine each month will take no more than 30 to 40 minutes and will help people to get to know their neighbours and build community spirit.

The roads we are currently having problems with are:

  • Goose Bay Drive
  • Lakenheath
  • Locking Drive
  • Systerton
  • Uxbridge Lane
  • Wattisham Road
  • Fylingdales Gardens
  • Mona Avenue
  • Shawbury Avenue
  • Digby Green
  • Halton Way

We are also seeking someone who could drop of bags/boxes of QN each month to around 10 to 12 distributors in Kingsway. Again this would only involve an hour or so each month.

If anyone can help they can email me or ring me:

Kingsway Spiritualist Church

Tuesday, January 19th, 2010 by Clive

…Meet at

Kingsway Community Centre – Naas Lane,
Every Friday Evening: 19:45 – 21:15

(Editors Note: These meetings are no longer taking place – See Comments).

On the 16th October 2009, we opened this new venture with a Service of Dedication and were thrilled at the number of friends who came to support us.

We had a very good attendance and would like to thank all for their support and encouragement and hope that word about us will spread.

With a varied program of services; workshops, development, clairvoyance, philosophy, discussions and more, we hope that there will be something for everyone. Why not come along and see for yourself.

Anyone interested in what we do is quite welcome to attend any of our meetings. We welcome both established Spiritualists and those who are interested in finding out or wish to know exactly what we do.

We try to provide a place where we can leave behind the worries and troubles of our everyday life to spend a time of “‘Peace, Quiet and Harmony”. in a Haven of Light, to discover and explore our Spiritual selves, and we guarantee all a very warm welcome with a cuppa and biscuit afterwards.

Editors Note:
<snip>… Contact details removed on Feb’ 1st 2010 – Following a message to say that the Church is no longer operating… See comments for further details
