Merry Christmas & A Happy New Beer

Thursday, December 22nd, 2011 by blastu2

Well… the year has flown, and it’s that time of year again when the lights go up all around the village – making it all that much more pleasant for us all to enjoy (spent the weekend putting ours on display around the garden).

Wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas, and Happy New Year ahead too!

Steve

Editors Note:
Steve also emailed me with information about the website for The Barn Owl at Kingsway and how – if you visit that website and sign up – Marston’s will send you a voucher for a FREE DRINK; which he asked me to pass on… (Cheers Steve)!

Whilst I’m here, I would also like to take this opportunity to say:

MERRY CHRISTMAS NEIGHBOURS…
AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR FOR 2012

From Angelina, Clive and all the family.

Launch of Severn FM

Wednesday, November 30th, 2011 by Barry Kirby

Hi All,

Just to let you know that Severn FM, our local community radio station will be going live on FM (87.9) this Saturday morning at 7am. Give it a listen and tell us what you think.

Moreover, if you want to get involved, please give me a shout, even if you just want to have a go at being in the studio, or just sit in a program. The idea is that it is a resource of our community to use and make the most of.

The Official launch will be at 10am on Saturday with the ribbon being cut by Neil Carmichael MP. If you want to come and see what we have done, then come to the studios at the Old School House in Hardwicke.

Tune in and tell us what you think, and what would you like to hear?

New Business

Thursday, September 8th, 2011 by sentwithlove

Hello,

My name is Stacey Brayshaw and I’ve lived in Kingsway since 2007.

I have recently set up my own small business called ‘Sent with Love’ selling cards & gifts.

I am looking for toddler groups or any other social group (W.I. etc) to go to and set up a stall. In return I would offer the group 10% of the days takings as way of thanks.

I am also looking to attend any School/Christmas Fairs and Pamper Evenings.

If anybody is organizing a fair or attends a social/toddler group and would like some more information or if anybody has any further questions please add a comment or email me at sentwithlove@ymail.com

Many thanks

Stacey Brayshaw

Recycle your PC

Thursday, September 1st, 2011 by MS PC Repairs

We are looking for old broken laptops and other computer systems to recycle for good causes and to stop the unnecessary dumping of recyclable computer parts.
Many broken computers and laptops etc can be fixed or used to fix others. So why are we just throwing them in the skip? After seeing what happens to our electronic and electrical waste we have decided to try to reduce this by sending out notices like this one to the local community. It seems to make sense that instead of letting your computer get crushed, buried or shipped abroad, why not make it into a donor to fix other computers for others to benefit from, and maybe make some cash in the process?

It was recently highlighted that a lot of our electronic waste ends up in other countries being sifted through by children at great danger to themselves. MS PC Repairs would like to offer an alternative to just dumping your laptop or desktop computer and could also give you cash for your item, (depending on condition).

We offer free collection of your unwanted computer, we also could give you cash for your item, and we could even repair your item and return it to you for a very good price. Saving the landfill and the possible chance that it doesn’t end up on a tip somewhere cutting into a childs feet as they sift through some of Britain’s waste. Also now that it will cost you money to have these items collected by the Council why not see if you can make money and have it collected?

We live in a wasteful society and we at MS PC Repairs and Servicing believe that old saying: “One person’s rubbish is another person’s treasure.”

Any items that can be repaired will end up being used again by someone who can’t afford to buy a new top of the range computer like students people on benefits and the elderly or disabled. Of course policing who ends up with a refurbished item will be done to ensure only the truly needy will benefit.

Paving Slabs Wanted

Sunday, August 21st, 2011 by MS PC Repairs

Please has anyone got any spare paving slabs that they want to get rid of or sell?

The slabs we are looking for are the sandy coloured ones used all over Kingsway. They measure 60cm x 60cm.

We have looked in various garden centres but can’t find the same type to match our existing slabs.

We are hoping to extend our patio but don’t want mis-matched slabs.

Please if you can help post on here or please contact on

Anyone have children the same age? Or can suggest things she can do up this way to meet new friends.

I would be happy to hear from you by email
