WASPI – Women Against State Pension Inequality

Tuesday, May 2nd, 2017

The above organisation is a support group for women born between 1951 and 1959 who had their state pension age raised from 60 to 66 without -or with very little notice. In my case, 58 years old with too little time to plan for retirement.

WASPI agree with the equalisation of the state pension age between men and women but the issue is regarding the lack of notice. The present Government has consistently refused to reconsider the aims of WASPI which is for transitional arrangements for the women affected.

I am aware that Mat McCall – the Labour candidate for Grange and Kingsway local elections supports the aims of the WASPI women. If you are one of the women affected this may be of help to you.
