Miracles Do Happen

Lamp Post
One of my personal issues which has been ongoing for some time, is a poorly placed lamp post (right in the middle of my pathway)!

Whilst a source of much amusement for others, ;) it has been a source of complaints from me for nearly 2 years!

Finally Andy Hunter (Project Manager for QUVL) has been able to get a grip on the organisations concerned and we came home on Friday to see the lamp post has been relocated.

It’s not much of a move, but it means that we will be able to get the pushchair in the house when our new arrival shows itself in a week (or so).

It’s not finished but the main effort has happened. So thanks to Andy for getting it sorted, and also to Jackie Hall (County Cllr) who also put a lot of pressure on for me.

I think this is a good sign that – even though it may take a while – things will get done in the end (as long as we keep up the pressure)!

RA Chair – Resignation

Friday, March 13th, 2009 by Barry Kirby

It is with some regret that I feel I have to stand down as the Chair of the Residents Association.
The reasons are many, but the main one is that with our new arrival expected within 1 to 5 weeks time, I see myself having very little time on my hands to devote to the RA and do the role justice. I was hoping that someone would have come along and put themselves forward for election, and I could be succeeded by someone who will do a better job than I have done to date.

I do not take this decision lightly as I really do want to be involved, however, seeing how much time I have been able to put in to date – and this will only get worse before it gets any better – I think it is best to do something now, rather than carrying on doing a sub-standard job.

I am hoping that putting this post, then this might persuade someone else to give it a go, rather than just letting apathy reign, someone might get motivated by it.

I am willing to be involved when I can, and after things settle down at home, I hope to become more involved again, but can’t see this happening for a good 6 months or so.

Barry
