2008 Quedgeley Dog Show

Sunday, August 3rd, 2008 by Clive

2008 Quedgeley Dog ShowOrganised by the Quedgeley Parish Council and opened by Councillor Andy Lewis of the Gloucester City Council, the first Quedgeley Community Dog Show was held on Saturday July 26th at “Dimor II” in Quedgeley.
The show was well attended by dog owners and spectators from Quedgeley and surrounding areas and featured dog training together with agility (an unusual combination which was enthusiastically received).

Quedgeley Dog Show 2008The idea originated from Quedgeley Parish Councillor Anna Mozol who decided to organise it “because of the large number of dogs in the Parish”. Following the show, Anna confirmed that this will become a regular feature in future years.
Quedgeley Parish Council would like to thank everyone involved in making this Dog Show Possible. Especially Bev and Deb from the office who also assisted on the day together with Helen, Phil, Roger, Nick and Anna.

Appealing EyesA Big thanks also to the Youth Parish Council / Equals for all their help, Pets Mate in Quedgeley (who donated all the prizes for the show), Whitminster Ring Craft (who donated Rosettes for the show) and the Greyhound Rescue Group (who sponsored Class 4 Best Rescue with Rosettes).

Not forgetting Animal Hospital, Pets at Home, Harvester Pub & Grill, Tesco and Posh Poochies for donating prizes for the programme raffle (local businesses in the Quedgeley area).
"…It’s nice to see local business’ supporting local events, lets hope we’ll see more of this in the future…"

The organisers would also like to thank dog owners for removing all litter from Dimore II. Considering the number of dogs attending, the level of responsibility was most gratifying.

If you were there on the day why not give your thoughts by ringing the office on 01452 721552, they would appreciate some feedback.

The Dog show made £120, to be donated to Teckles (a local charity).

Residents Association – Open Meeting 8/7/08 – 1930h

Friday, August 1st, 2008 by Barry Kirby

Folks

The Next open meeting is Friday 8th August in Avionics House on the Kingsway Business Park.
For those who went last time, it’s in the same room as we had then (see map here).
Start Time: 1930h

The Draft Agenda at the moment is:
Welcome
Introductions of the Committee
Aims of the Association
Work Done To Date
Open Floor For Issues (See notes on this section below)
Open Floor For Positives
Date Of Next Meeting
Meeting Close

The “Open Floor” will be a portion of the meeting where any resident can raise an issue that needs to be take further by the Association. Any person can ask to raise an issue. This needs to be clear and consise. The Chair will then ask the floor if there are any objections to the issue been addressed and if there are none then it will be minuted and taken as an action. If there is an objection, then this will be heard and then a vote taken to see if it is to be addressed.

The “Open Foor For Positives” is to get a vibe from residents about what we like about Kingsway and what positive things the Association can do to improve community spirit etc.

If you want to add any specific items to the Agenda, please email them to kingswayra@googlemail.com or in an envelope clearly marked with Residents Association and for my attention, to: 70 Thatcham Avenue, by Wednesday 6th August, so I can at least try and get some form of response for you.

Cheers,

Barry.
