Community Police Priorities
Friday, August 8th, 2008Quedgeley and Hardwicke Community Police - Neighbourhood Panel
I had a call this week from the Community Police at Quedgeley, inviting me to join a “neighbourhood panel”.
The idea is to get input from local residents, via a small team of representatives who “have a desire to be active within their respective communities, working together with other members to address concerns identified by the local community”, and the plan is to create such a team “to gain an insight into the local community’s crime and disorder concerns”, meeting regularly - every 3 months - to prioritise those concerns for the local Safer Community Team to work on.
Since it fits in rather well with my activities for the Residents Association, I have agreed to attend, but - on a personal level - I have no particular issues and I don’t live in one of the areas which have experienced serious problems up to now, so - whilst I am aware that issues exist around the underpass - I don’t know how things are faring at the park(s) nowadays, nor if there are particular problems elsewhere in the Kingsway Village area, so I would very much like to hear from anybody who has an opinion / problem / issue / POV, about our local community policing and it’s future, including:
Any recurring issues.
Anything which needs attention (urgent or otherwise).
Anything else we / you would like to know / add.
